Quo from 70 to 75 were the best band there has been. EVER.
Spinning Wheel Blues, Someone's Learning, A Year (fan-bloody-tastic!), 4500, Softer Ride, Umleitung, Daughter, Unspoken Words, Slow Train, Oh Baby, and the 1st minute of Blue Eyed Lady (ohhh, yes!) Not forgetting the more obvious Caroline, Dont Waste My Time, Down... etc.
It. just. cannot. get. any. better. (A few tracks since have tried to compete: Come Rock With Me/Rockin on, Goodbye Baby...)

Brother as I remember Quo themselves particully rossi and parffit back in the seventies tongue in cheek started the 3 chord jibe... what they actually related to was the 12 bar blues rift that based itself in many songs and gave them a distinctive sound. The boys were great at allowing folk to poke fun at them about it. Any true fan see's the humour behind it. You & Jimbo below got it right.

I been following Status Quo since 1974 . I used to play On the Level everyday . I used to collect every thing by Quo . after the Quo live album Status Quo was not the same anymore.... They play more than 3 chords always did . if you go further back in the 60s Status Quo played load s of different stuff .but then again . if a band can play 3 chords and sound like this then good luck to em . the less chords you play the harder it is to make a song worth any substance .

This is one of Quo's best. I have followed them since the late 60's and never tire of listening to the old albums (of which I have 13). Fantastic stuff!!
